Cash Book is made by 02apps studio, an independent app studio whose legal entity is Pattern Consulting OOD, registered in Bulgaria. No investors, no growth department, no outsourced support: a small team that builds trackers people actually keep using, and tracks its own spending with this one.
Why this app exists
Most expense trackers fail for one reason. Logging takes long enough that you stop doing it, and a ledger with gaps is worse than no ledger, because it looks like the truth. Cash Book started from a single idea: logging has to be so fast that you actually do it.
You already know what you spent. You say it out loud, or you hold the receipt in your hand. So the app should listen, not make you type. Voice logging came first, then receipt snaps, then Apple Pay auto-logging, and the keypad stayed for the moments when three taps are the fastest thing. The budgets, accounts and insights grew around that.
The three principles
- Your data is yours. Transactions live on your iPhone, synced to your own iCloud if you choose. There is no Cash Book account, no sign-up, and no server of ours holding your history.
- Honest numbers. One spending figure per period, budgets that turn red when you are over, insights that compare this month with last month. No streaks, no scores, no motivational inflation.
- Calm software. One number per screen, no feed, no social layer, nothing begging for attention. You open it, you see where the money went, you close it.
