Privacy Policy: What Cash Book Collects and Doesn't

This policy is written to be read. It covers the Cash Book iOS app and this website, both operated by 02apps studio, the trading name of Pattern Consulting OOD (Pattern Consulting Ltd), registered in Bulgaria under reg. no 205825026. The studio-wide policy at 02apps.com/privacy applies as well; this page explains what it means for Cash Book specifically. If anything here is unclear, email [email protected] and a human will explain it.

Your transaction data

Transactions, tags, categories, budgets and accounts are stored on your iPhone. If you enable iCloud sync in Settings, they are also stored in your own iCloud account, under Apple's encryption, where we cannot read them. There is no Cash Book account, no sign-up, and no 02apps server that holds your spending history. If you delete the app without an iCloud copy or a device backup, the data is gone and we cannot recover it, because we never had it.

Cash Book uses none of the account, cloud-sync or social features described in the studio-wide policy. There is no Firebase account and no community feed in this app.

Voice clips and photos

Voice logging and the receipt snap send your audio clip or photo to Google's Gemini model through our relay server, so the model can turn it into transactions. The relay adds no identity to the request, and neither we nor the relay store the clip or the photo after the response is returned. Nothing is recorded in the background: the microphone and the camera are used only while you are holding the button or taking the picture. To avoid this processing entirely, log with the keypad instead.

We do not train AI models on your data.

Analytics

The app uses Mixpanel to count feature usage in aggregate: which screens are opened, whether a voice log succeeded, which iOS version and app version you run, and crash reports. Events never contain your transaction contents, amounts, merchants, audio or photos. Mixpanel receives an anonymized device identifier, not your name or email. The app has no built-in analytics opt-out yet; Mixpanel retains event data according to its own policy, typically 5 years.

This website loads Google Tag Manager only after you accept the consent banner. Declining keeps every analytics and advertising storage flag denied, and website analytics data is kept for at most 24 months.

Purchases

The annual plan and the lifetime purchase run through Apple and RevenueCat. We receive receipt validation data only: a pseudonymous ID, the product bought and its price. We never see your payment details, and we have no access to your Apple ID or your App Store purchase history.

What we never do

We do not sell data, run third-party ads, request your contacts, or track your location. Cash Book never connects to a bank and never asks for bank credentials.

Where data is processed

Pattern Consulting is based in Bulgaria, in the European Union. Apple, Google and Mixpanel operate servers in the United States; transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and by data processing agreements with each provider.

Your rights

Under GDPR you can ask for access to, correction of, or erasure of any personal data we hold, and you can object to or restrict processing. Since we hold no transaction data, most of these requests concern support emails and purchase records. Cash Book is not directed at children under 13.

Deleting your data

Delete the app and your on-device data goes with it. iCloud copies are removed via Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Storage. Erase all data from inside the app under Settings → Data Management. For anything else, email [email protected] and it will be handled within 30 days.

Changes and contact

Material changes to this policy are noted on the what's new page, with the date at the top of this one. Questions go to [email protected].
